Parking fine when visiting parcel locker

Displaygirl

I received a parking fine from ParkingEye in a retail car park when visiting the bank of lockers to collect a parcel It was 7pm on a Sunday and the whole area was deserted. To my mind the whole point of the lockers is so that people can collect during unsocial hours and you would not expect to have to pay £100 for the privilege.
Signs in the car park state no parking outside shop hours which were new and I did not read. This smacks of a money making arrangement between the land owner and Parking Eye as this is bound to catch people out. What are my chances of a successful appeal? And has this happened to anyone else

Give it a go, but as you admit to not having read the signs I don't personally fancy your chances.0

These are new signs but still you didn't take the time to read them? On what grounds do you think you could possibly appeal? You were parking on private land and the correct signage was there.0

The fact that you have parked there before and so didn't think to look for the signs is a good reason to appeal. And if there was no parking allowed when the shops were closed why were you able to get in to the parking lot? That in itself shows this to be the scam it is.
But before you do post a copy of your PCN (it's an invoice, not a fine) on here, blanking out the personal details and the informed types will be able to advise better than I can.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This really isn't fair and nor is this advice even remotely correct. This motorist will NEVER have to pay.
Simply complain to the landowner's agent (see the sign at the entrance or online) and they'll cancel it in minutes.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Displaygirl should follow her advice and complain about it to the business or landlord or landowner and get it cancelled, because just like cashpoints at supermarkets it's a 24 hour convenience service, a legitimate use of the premises, like the following Parking Eye one below

OK, I was just mindful of not descending into barrack-room lawyerism. 🤷♂️0

What a load of rubbish some people have posted on here.
For starters, using a parcel locker wouldn't constitute parking.4 -
Thank you all for your replies
