you can certainly go and try out the mattresses there - very important to try them0

Have a look at Ikea, but I personally wouldn't buy my main bed from there. I would suggest trying the bed specialist companies as well, see what you like. We did buy an occasional bed from Ikea which is fine for guests now and then.1

You can look at the instructions of IKEA bed assembly on their website which will give you an idea.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
I was just wondering if divan is easier although they are a bit dated these days ?0

You will spend more of your life in your bed than on any other piece of furniture you will ever own by a very long way. Personally think it's something worth investing in even if it means cutting corners elsewhere. I've had cheap mattresses in the past that were ok for the first few months but became uncomfortable after so a false economy.0 -
Do you have a local bed shop? Preferably an independent one, rather than a chain. The usually put a different mattress on each bed. So you can go around the shop laying on each of them until you find the mattress that suits you. Then buy whatever sort of bed you want to go with it.When it comes to comfort, the mattress is more important than the bed. I have a cheap divan bed with a good mattress on it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
If you use a local company then they will often put the bed together for you (unless it is covid and they stand outside giving you handy instructions
I personally find IKEA bed frames much easier to put together than John Lewis0
