Terms last year just say "2 payments out" (if you look on page 4 in this thread, the info from 2025 is reproduced there). We've made 2 small bank transfers out & used the d/c twice as well.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
I don't know but if pushed I would guess 'no'

Many thanks guys :-)

Nationwide don't specify what types of payments are required, so it can only mean all types of payments, including debit card payments.

Why would you guess that? A debit card payment is most certainly a payment!

Nationwide haven't specified anything for 2026 yet…. so it will mean whatever Nationwide want whatever they say to mean, when they've said it.
I've said it before and been proved wrong, but at some point Nationwide will have to manage the cost of this promotion either by reducing the amount paid per member, or reducing the number of members being paid.
If we guess the preference would be reducing the number of members paid, then the qualifying criteria would likely be made tougher to achieve that. For example, increasing the total number of payments, or by specifying the type(s) of payment.
Personally I would cover off that possibility by having a couple of direct debits, make a couple of debit card payments, and a couple of faster payments - which would hopefully still meet the criteria if there were a change from previous years.
It isn't a lot of work to earn a potential £100. And as the criteria aren't known in advance it might be unwise to assume the absolute minimum effort (based on previous years) would be enough to qualify going forward.

Good advice.

Don't forget the required amount in savings could be increased as well...

Yes, Nationwide could change any, or all, of the qualifying criteria. Last year's conditions are the best we can go on for the time being.
