Last change of keeper 16/04/2025 but untaxed since same date. Suggests a garage sold it 16/04/2025 and it was then rejected and went back on sale.

This garage have had it on sale since 09/05/2025 and it's not shifted.

I am not certain that the dates mentioned suggest the car was purchased and then rejected.
Mid-April might be the date the car was traded in somewhere and then goes to auction and gets to a forecourt beginning of May.  Only three weeks from 16th April to 9th May.

Unlikely a new v5c would have been issued if it was traded in or auctioned as it would have been in trade. 16/04/2025 v5c date suggests it was purchased.

Yep that's it. We've put a holding deposit down and we're just off to see it

    What do you think?
One thing confuses me, there are 10's of thousands of used cars around, why oh why would you put a deposit on something you hadn't seen,

    This...

Go and look at it BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

The ad is only to get you to go and see it.

There could be any number of problems that a dealer might forget to mention in an advert.

    See it
    Drive it
    Check it

Then consider a deposit and the rest of the sale process.

It's a fully refundable deposit to simply reserve the car. I put the deposit down on the Monday because I knew I wouldn't be able to view it until the Saturday

Hopefully, if you're dealing with a good dealer. If they aren't then getting the car back in practice can be a whole other matter.

Not such a zinger.  When you trade a vehicle dealers don't buy it, they also finance it.  When it is sold this asset is removed from their inventory and the 'debt' is gone.
