Why so cheap?
Looking at getting my Son his first car. We've found what looks to be a perfect match, but it's too cheap and I cannot think why.
It's for sale at a dealer for £4k and Autotrader says this is £1.5k below asking price. It's a 2017 car with 80k on the clock and a 1.6 diesel. I have done the normal checks and nothing stands out.
Do I simply ask the dealer why it's so cheap and jeopardise a deal?

If you've checked everything, driven it, and are happy, just buy it.
Do you want to tell us what it is and how much it is?1 -
If its due a cambelt, waterpump, new belts etc that's £500+, if the dpf is ready to be replaced thats £500+, but without any vehicle details who really knows?2

Autotrader pricing is often wrong.2

I'd expect some cosmetic damage, possible advisories on the mot. But not a ridiculous price. Doubt it would shift at 5.5k. Dealer probably wants it gone1

Have you done any background checks on the dealers/ reviews etc2

Having shopped recently for a car to teach my Son to drive, i found that pricing is pretty transparent these days mostly due to Autotrader making it so easy to compare.
If its cheap, its for a reason.0 -
