cancelling a dispute with airlline

tickets have been cancelled, email recieved. have booked with another airline.
when i initiated the chargeback, cc company did not explain correct procedure to me, i did explain the situation, that the airline would not enable me to book special assistance when it was on their website and t&c that you could do so, prior to the flight.
special assistance was a must due the passengers having a disability.
they also sent me emails saying the request was not approved. this led to me panicking and therefore contacting the cc company.
it almost seemed as though the advisor was encouraging me to raise a claim, just saying i would recieve money in my account after a few days.
i was in a panic at the time and being naive i proceeded with the claim, not really knowing what it entailed.
i only realised my mistake after a few days when another cc advisor explained to me in detail about the procedure and what the possible outcome might be.
it was at this point i realised that i should not have raised the chargeback, then i decided to cancel the chargeback but was unable to do so.
other airline have booked the special assistance.
now, i will just have to patiently wait and see what the future holds.

Which airline was it?
I can't see what grounds you had for raising the chargeback and as such the prospects arent great. That said, some airlines dont challenge chargebacks even if they feel they were in the right but you may effectively be banned from travelling with them as a consequence until you repay them. Ryanair didnt challenge chargebacks during Covid but instead next time people go to book they find they can only proceed by repaying the chargeback first.
Whilst the merchant is given 45 days to respond to the chargeback dont expect them to be notified the same day as you raising it nor that if they log a defence that its reviewed the same day either. People always seem to come away with the impression it's 45 days end to end but in reality it can be notably longer. The first you'll know of having lost the case is the monies being recharged on your account.0
