DCBL on behalf of ECP incorrect reg

Hi
Parked in ECP park October '24 and paid fee but entered wrong reg. Appealed showing evidence of payment, rejected early this year.
DCBL sent a claim form beginning of July, and I entered defence two days later before finding this forum, just repeated that I'd paid and sent the payment screenshot again.
Spoke with them on phone two weeks ago and attempted to pay the £20 charge they'd offered me once they knew this was an incorrect reg plate case, but they refused to accept it and demanded £60. I'd now read on here that their own BPA said £20 was a maximum for keying errors so I said no thanks and hung up.
Then this arrived in the post this morning.

Definitely not DCBL , ECP are using DCB LEGAL
Download the N180 DQ document pdf from the gov website and fill it in and email it to the DQ email address in the 8 steps in the defence template thread, also copying in DCB Legal, so one pdf attachment , one email, 2 destinations1 -
I said 'DCBL' as an abbreviation of 'DCB Legal', I didn't realise they were different entities. The N180 form was attached to the letter I've posted above so I don't need to download one. Unfortunately for reasons that are entirely genuine but that I'd honestly rather not go into here, I don't have a Government Gateway ID and so it looks from the 8 steps post that I can't use MCOL.
I guess my first question then is can this forum still help me fight the claim?
Can I still acknowledge the claim at the email address in the 8 steps, AOS.CNBC@justice.gov.uk , or do I have to use the NN 1LH postal address in the letter they sent me above?
Finally, having read the (outstanding) defence in post 2 of the 8 steps thread, where and when can I submit that? The lN180 form doesn't have a space for a defence.

Yes they are different, so clarity is essential, as are correct abbreviations etc
Yes we can help you to carry on fighting the money claim
The AOS has already been done, much earlier on, plus the defence has been filed already, so you are at the N180 stage , you cannot and do not file a defence, you have already done so
You are about halfway through those 8 steps at the moment , so past the AOS stage and also past the defence submission stage too, so you are now at step 3
We know that they included the paper N180 document, which you could fill in and post back using snail mail, which could go wrong in several ways so we do not recommend it , so I repeat my advice, seeing as you want this to not go wrong, as has happened to other victims

Your alternative is to fill in the paperwork N180 and post it by snail mail To the CNBC in Northampton, but I wouldn't

Why are you speaking to them? Now you'll have to have exactly the same conversation at mediation.Your letter is perfectly normal and they'll discontinue at the end of the year.3

For clarity then, it definitely is DCBL I'm dealing with - here is one of their letters, suitably edited!
Okay, understood now why to download a fresh form and return to DQ.CNBC@justice.gov.uk . My question is who to copy in - DCBL, or Euro Car Parks who appear in the 'Client' field.
Either is problematic - DCBL send emails from 'noreply' email addresses so it can be (intentionally?) difficult to email them. Euro Car Parks unquestionably go to significant lengths to avoid receiving emails from 'clients' - a quick Google shows emails sent to obvious addresses like help@ etc just bounce back undeliverable.
It goes without saying, but I am very grateful for the help!

DCBL were dealing with it, but not since DCB LEGAL LTD took over the reins with the Letter of Claim followed by the NCOL court claim, meaning that DCBL are no longer involved ( so from powerless debt collectors letters from DCBL to a registered legal company, regardless of the similar letters in the acronyms or initialisms, it's basically 2 different limited companies as far as everyone is concerned, including them
The claimant private parking company is ECP
DCB Legal are now acting on behalf of ECP, as their lawyers, the top left of the N1SDT claim form says so in the 2 boxes above your name and address , just below where it says CLAIM FORM
You download the N180 pdf document, fill it in and e sign it, and save it. So then its the one email, with one pdf attachment, 2 email destinations, so the DQ email address in step 3 onwards in the defence template thread , and CC the DCB Legal email address too
Not DCBL , not ECP either, just the CNBC and the claimants lawyers, !3 -
Everything goes to info@dcblegal.co.uk from start to discontinuance.
Court emails will change throughout the process.2 -
That's either an old letter before the Claim form arrived, or if it's a new letter it's about a different PCN. DCB Ltd deal with pre-action threatograms. DCB Legal Ltd file the claims.ThisIsntMyNameEither said:For clarity then, it definitely is DCBL I'm dealing with - here is one of their letters, suitably edited!

Either way you aren't meant to be emailing Euro Car Parks directly.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As per the excellent advice given, I've returned the DQ and had confirmation from both places.I've now been given a date for a mediation appointment in a couple of weeks. I think from reading the 8 steps thread that this is a straightforward instance of the mediator asking me what I'll pay (nothing) and them what they'll accept (full claim amount) and then ending the appointment?
I filled in an 'appeal' before I found this advice unfortunately and simply relied on the common sense that I now realise they don't have - I sent a screenshot of my payment on my bank account, and they then tied that up with the incorrect reg number that I entered (the reg entered on the machine was for the correct car before it had a private plate put on). They still demanded £60 not the £20 the BPA says is maximum for a major keying error so I declined. If I had my time again I'd submit a more comprehensive defence including elements from other defences here, and include that the machine that the reg was entered on was not designed to produce any printed output that would have allowed the driver to spot the erroneous entry, and had a screen so low that it was not possible to see what had been entered. I've seen now something about there being no loss to the claimant as parking was paid for, but in one of the lots of threads I've read it says not to put that down.
Do I need anything for the mediation? Or should I just state that I don't believe I owe anything and so my offer is zero?1 -
Nothing else except your offer is zero.
They'll discontinue anyway, and they know it.1
