Question also would be, with the context of me not knowing the road, why are you in lane 3 when 1 and 2 are empty?

What dashcam also with left and right views or is that something like a Tesla with inbuilt cameras?
I was just overtaking another car on lane 2 and shortly merged back to lane 2 before the camera. Yes, its the tesla inbult cameras. I have saved the clip slightly after I got the flash.

I was driving on cruise control and usually the car adjusts to speeds automatically after it passes the first sign.
"After" is too late. The speed limit starts at the sign.

You should rely on your eyes, rather than the technology, which has already let you down. As others have pointed out, the sign would have been visible from about 300 yards, which gave more than enough time to slow down safely.
Agree, no laws are on my side to fight  :#

Surely this is unsafe .    Should you not be switching cruise control off when you see the sign (which is probably visible a mile away)
In this instance the sign was visible maybe from 250Mtrs away. Technically I can reduce the speed to the set limit after the car's camera detects the new speed limit mostly before the limit itself and by pulling the cruise lever.

Or you use your feet and actually brake?

You have become a lazy, unobservant driver relying on technology.

You could say that about just about anybody who drives any modern(ish) car. Braking systems for one thing have improved dramatically over the decades. Any half decent driver has an idea when to brake in order to reduce speed. Does that make him or her lazy and unobservant by relying on that technology?
The OP has accepted he got caught and there is little chance of getting out of it.

might be worth asking here: https://www.ftla.uk/
    I would suggest not.

It does if they end up like this OP.

    Indeed.

In a non-motorway context, you have been driving on an NSL road and reach the edge of a 30 limit.

Somebody with the OP's pre-thread mindset would only start slowing from 60 to 30 once inside the 30 limit and would regard a ticket for 58 in a 30 as manifestly unfair.

This is not a dig at the OP. This is entirely down to car technology having reached a point where drivers can simply evade their own responsibility by delegating proactive thought to reactive technology. And, no, I am not in the slightest surprised that we're talking about a Tesla here, with their downright dangerous and fraudulent marketing of their illegal-to-use"autopilot" having already claimed many lives.

No "prior warning" is needed. Throughout the country, there are countless examples of a transition from NSL (60) to 30 with no such warning.

You say "The car in front of me suddenly breaked near the gantry and this forced me to change lanes for safety," Couldn't you have braked too? Were you driving too close to do so safely?
I didnt break hardly partly due to this and there was another car behind me I previously overtook.

Looks like you had plenty of time to slow down. Also the cameras don’t become active immediately the speed limit appears on the gantry, there is always a delay so people who are actually paying attention are not caught out.

Sorry I think you are bang to rights on this one.
Yes, this limit was active 6 minutes ago, I know my defence is not based on this but about prior warning.
I would never trust the car to read or interpret speed limits correctly.

In the UK the Tesla autopilot is just cruise control, no major difference to any other manufacturer.  The Full Self Driving (FSD) option is not yet activated in the UK because the law currently doesn’t allow it.  Plenty of miffed UK customers still paying for it though without even knowing when it will be available 🤷‍♂️

ironically had you stayed where you were adaptive cruise control would have braked and saved you. You changed lanes and that exact driving aid stuffed you because you didn't manually intervene by braking
