Looking for new broadband and phone line

I am with Now Broadband and they want to increase my bill to about £40 per month from October. I have basic broadband (its only me in the house) and a traditional landline which I want to keep if possible. I can't find another supplier who offers this combination. Is it still available? They seem to be pushing digital phone lines but my understanding is that the switch over isn't until 2027 unless I am mistaken?

By basic do you mean an old ADSL line or partial fibre (FTTC)?
Even if you are FTTC with a copper phone line providers are looking to transfer telephony to the broadband connection (VoIP).
It's unlikely that you be able to keep a copper line but there are certainly providers that will port your phone service to VoIP whilst retaining the number.
Make sure you ask the right questions of any potential new ISP.0 -
Jan 2027 is the last date for PSTN switch off for the most difficult cases , typically no broadband customers (so phone only ) or those that have alarm systems that aren’t compatible, for the rest it’s going to be way before then ……if you move provider chances are the new phone service from them will be via the broadband router , that’s just the way it is …..even if it’s essential that you stay with a traditional telephone for as long as you can , and are prepared to stay with Now on an out of contract basis paying way more than necessary, it’s still possible that Now could simply advise you that you are being migrated and for to plug your phone into the router (supplying a compatible router if you need one ) in that case you have paid more than necessary and still end up on IP telephony, personally I don’t see the point in delaying the inevitable0

As above, the 2027 date is for this to all be finished and most people will be switched long before that. My service was changed when I switched providers in March this year. My phone handset plugs into my router, instead of into my master socket, but other than that it still works the same as ever.N. Hampshire, he/him. I have the same problem a relative has Talk Talk Basic B/Band and Normal Landline, its about £45 a month now for a 1.7MB Broadband (she lives in country) and she has Unlimited Calls Add on - so was just wondering if there would be any cheaper service??Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0

Could she consider mobile broadband and/or using a mobile phone for her calls?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
