With those percentages nothing will come near to UW on price. I don't do fixed, stay with variable.
I think my day usage is about 14%, nothing beats UW on that usage.
Happy to send you my spreadsheet, but if your not in West Mids the prices will need updating. You'd just enter your annual usage for day and night and it calculates the prices for all suppliers variable tariffs.

Thank, but I'm in Kent. Forgive my ignorance, but why does location matter? Why woul you suggest variable over fixed as well? I'm now actually looking at a bundle with BB as have very expensive, poor service from BT.

Tariffs vary (usually only slightly) from region to region.

UWs's broadband is unlikely to provide better performance than BT, since it'll probably be running over the same wires. I can't comment on whether UW offers better customer support or not.

Re BB: you're right, but it's a lot cheaper. £36.40 to include off peak calls. I'm currently paying close to £50 and that's without calls. The reason why the calls are attractive is because we have poor mobile reception here and the mobile switches to wifi calls anyway. My thinking is maybe using the landline, via the broadband, is slightly easier than a mobile. Maybe. It might mean less 'Can you hear me?' as at least I know the LL is on wifi rather than the mobile which switches between the 2.

The reason I don't go for fixed is because the night rate with UW is so low it proves competitive most of the time. I prefer not to be locked in with exit fees.
In relation to your comments about mobile signal and WiFi calling, there is usually a preference setting on the phone to lock onto WiFi calling. This prevents it trying to continually look and connect to the mobile signal. I use WiFi calling at home which gives perfect connection, no matter how long I'm on a call.
A Lebara SIM only deal (see MSE deals) would be far cheaper than bundelled mobile service from UW.

Thanks but it is the mobile signal that is the problem. None have a good signal inside - the best is O2 and even that is weak so we rely on a decent wifi signal.  Ofcom says different to the individual network coverage pages as well (unsurprisingly!) so we can't really trust any sim fully. It was an absolute nightmare when they switched us to digital voice as we have missed so many calls due to wifi cutting out (BT).

Sorry I think you misunderstand. Modern smart phones have a setting for WiFi calling, which means when you are connected to WiFi - i.e. when you're at home and connected to your home WiFi, any calls you make will be routed over the home WiFi, rather than the mobile signal. Even if you have no mobile signal at home, you'll have a perfect mobile connection as the calls will route over home WiFi.

No I get that thanks. What I mean is, the wifi connection is so bad with BT at the moment, we can't rely on it either, so keeping the mobile constantly on wifi calls only isn't a good idea. We have a poor mobile signal and wifi isn't great when it is working - but this week especially it has dropped a lot. It's been out for another 2 hours this evening. So I wouldn't be looking for a bundled mobile from UW but at their BB instead which, as far as I can see, is Talktalk and not a SIM one.

Can't comment on BT, been many years since had anything from them or via Open Reach for that matter. I have a rock solid Virgin Media connection, so guess I'm lucky.

Yes, you are :)  I've now gone down the rabbit hole of looking for new sims as well  :D  However, I do want to turn on the storage heaters so I think UW wins for energy - it's just deciding to take a risk with BB too. I think there's a cooling off period though so I might just jump.
