Letter of Claim DCB Legal - Next Steps

Hi I received an LOC dated 13th August for a parking charge from 3 years ago (had ignored everything up until now). I parked and proceeded to make payment over the phone with Euro Car Parks supplier, Paybyphone. I painstakingly put in all my credit card details via my phone keypad as required and had no reason to believe it hadn't gone through. I was conscious a few hours later that I had never received any sort of confirmation or receipt so I made contact with them the next day. They advised that they had checked their system and whilst they my account with my phone number was accessed on the day, they couldn't confirm the payment. Neither could they retrospectively apply the payment but advised I could appeal via POPLA which I did. My whole appeal was based on the fact that I made every effort to pay for my parking, monitored whether I received confirmation and called the next day to verify. I stated that it is not my fault of one of their suppliers had let them down, operationally. My appeal was refused so I continued to ignore the letters until now.

I see there is a template to respond to LOCs - is it worth my progressing this or have I weakened my position with the appeal and I should just pay., I'm normally pretty good with fighting stuff like this - even legal stuff but I'm starting to fee out of my depth a little and a CCJ is something I cannot afford to get right now.

Thanks in advance.

Don't overthink this , just email the response,   then wait for the inevitable N1SDT court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL to arrive in the post

Thank you! I don't quite understand the point of the first sentence about address though "I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records" Is this still needed if my address has never changed ?

Not necessarily,  but it's confirming the correct address for the service of papers,  leaving them with no option but to use it,  so leave it in,  regardless of if you have a previous address or not
  • Sorry last question - there is only an 'info@dcblegal.co.uk' email address on the letter - do I send it to that with the reference in the subject title ?
