Lloyds/ Halifax ban

The website platform looks similar, I don't think the app does, and the OP said they liked the Lloyds/Halifax app (don't know why, I don't like it!) not mentioning the website. So if he/she likes the app, I don't think TSB would do.Section62 said:steven141 said:
Not anymore. They moved to their own platform years ago now.Naturelover22 said:TSB's online banking is very similar to Lloyds so if you like the online banking from Lloyds I would say that your TSB account would be also the same to use online.
I think you need to accept the Lloyds outcome and try in a few years.Their own platform, but as Naturelover22 says, "very similar to Lloyds".How long that might last if Santander's purchase of TSB completes is open to question though. Possibly not very long.
But, really, as everyone has said, 95 applications in one year will have scuppered OP's chances with Lloyds for now. Should have accepted a basic account on application #1 and asked for an account change in due course.1 -
The OP has deleted their account1

Maybe they’ll create 94 more in the hope of a different answer…14

I don't put the blame solely on the OP. If LBG were insistent they would not open this account, they could have simply communicated their stance in writing after a few failed attempts.
Letting it extend to 95 attempts is on them to some degree. A result of this systemic automated approach to customer service.0 -
Depending on when the OP originally tried the Lloyds/Halifax app, they may well find it has changed substantially and is not as they remember it anywayZanderman said:

The underlying IT is the same - if fact up until a few years ago it was all running on the same software in the same data centre just partitionedZanderman said:

It's not the same underlying IT at all. Don't you remember the great TSB migration disaster of 2018? They moved everything over from the old Lloyds system to a new system based on Sabadell's Porteo IT system, and made a great big mess of it. Many customers couldn't access their accounts for days, or weeks, and the Chief Executive was forced to resign.DE_612183 said:

I have accounts with both Lloyds and TSB and I can assure you that the apps are not the same. Lloyds is much better.4 -
