Morning all,
Up super early - actually I didn’t go to bed but languished on the settee - to drop DD at the big airport for 3.30am and the start of her travels. I am in awe of my child’s bravery and guag. Thanks to Mr G00gle that we got there as planned, as every motorway had closures. I was very brave and just hugged her at the drop off… Back home with the motorways annoyingly opening as we got near (but it did make for a more straightforward journey given the driving rain) and it was back to bed at 5.30am.
Bedding is now changed and in the wm, bathroom to be tackled after I have remade the bed.
As for the September Challenge, I am in the same boat as Pollybear in that a lot of the decluttering is not mine, but there is some that I can tackle. I have decided to use the Challenge to tackle my list of small (or maybe not so small when I get to them) outstanding jobs. Another forum here calls them OATs, outstanding annoying tasks, exactly the jobs that I work to avoid! So, the story so far…
1st - I cleared out and sorted into date / use by order all the hm chutneys and jams which are stored under the stairs and thrown away any that have leaked the seal etc etc. Conclusion - I need to make more cake with jam!! Some of the small new offerings from this year have been earmarked as C-word presents, so I need to start a list for that otherwise I will forget.
2nd - I got quotes for my car insurance renewal, and actually renewed it!! It is due in 20 days so I was in the sweet period. More importantly, I took a like for like policy and saved a ridiculous £150. And it isn’t like I didn’t shop around last year. Going through a comparison site saved me £100 on the same quote with the insurer direct for the same policy. Feeling very mse, although I do have the documents to read through yet again just to satisfy myself.
Sorry for the long post, yesterday disappeared in a haze of haircut and list writing to make sure that DD had remembered the things that I thought were important. She had.
Have a lovely day all.6 -
Morning all (I know it's gone midday but for me it's morning until after lunch).I've done a washload which had an hour in the sun and wind before the rain returned. DH unwell again so I've spent time on the phone and waited for a callback but they've issued a prescription which I can pick up this afternoon. Shopping delivered about 10.30 so that's sorted out and put away. Nearly time to start lunch. This afternoon I'm picking my granddaughter up from school, walking over to the chemist for the prescription, then back here to watch rubbish television and give her some tea.Not much really but it feels like enough!6

Morning all,
Hope everyone is ok, otherwise have you all gone away on the bus without me?
Yesterday I dusted and vacuumed the bedroom and cleaned the ensuite and the downstairs toilet. The landing paintwork will not be getting cleaned as per today’s list as we are waiting for the builders - again - to replaster the landing and stairs. I might shift myself to clean the bathroom before I go out later this morning to meet ex work colleagues.September challenge for 3rd - descaled the kettle, de-stained the teapot, cleaned the coffee machine. Small jobs and they will go back on the list but done for now.
Washing machine has just finished, it is back to indoor drying again, although we do finally have very full water butts again.
Have a good day all x7 -
Morning,
Well yesterday was disappointing, apart from my parents noone bothered with DD2 (or my Dad). Neither her father or brother even bothered to write Happy birthday on FB let alone send/give her a card. Same with DD1 who finally sent her a message late afternoon.
DD2 wasn't expecting "stuff" just acknowledgement.
I felt pretty down by the end of the day so apart from putting the DW on I didn't do much else.
I've spent this morning going through paperwork, appointment dates and food shopping lists.
DW has been unloaded and one load in the WM which will have to go on the airer as we're having heavy showers here.
I ordered offline some special stickers to replace where numbers and symbols have worn off my cooker so I'm hoping to fix them on today but I'm a little nervous about messing it up.

Afternoon all - had trouble logging in earlier, so I gave up and had a coffee ☕️
Rain has stopped play, so no volunteering gardening this morning. Have opened & closed the windows, aired & remade bed, done some puzzles. Rest of the day will be FUPA, PUPA, S&S, HHI, HH🐸COD

Morning all. Oh wendywitch it's so disappointing when people, especially family, let you down and somehow even worse when they let your children down. I'm sure she knows you care.I managed to do some cleaning today. Did the bathroom and toilet first thing. Then dusted, polished and vacuumed the whole house. I cleaned the downstairs windows inside, we have a window cleaner for the outside.Cooking lunch now but at least I feel like I've achieved something.Hope everyone's OK x6

Right Ladies (& gents) I need some advice. I have mould on the sealant of a double glazed window. I have tried white vinegar on cotton wool and left for an hour to soak as suggested on Stacey Solomon's sort your life out but it did nothing. Would I be able to use blue toilet bleach on it and it work without it turning the sealant blue? Or do any of you have any suggestions that won't cost lots of ££?
