I see there are some good fixed rates for one year fixes (Tesco Bank, 4.21%).

    Has anyone tried this?

“Newbies can also open its linked easy-access saver within 31 days of opening the account, which gives 4.75% (2.5% variable + 2.25% fixed 12mth bonus), min 1p, max £3m.”

    MSE, August 2028

(Great news from 3 years in the future, how do you do that?)

Very probably tens if not hundreds of thousands have opened the Chase account and snaffled the bonus savings account too.

Some of us have been with them for a while, have had the bonus expire, moved all their money elsewhere, kept a few quid in the current account and then been offered another bonus savings account and moved their funds back again.

The money saving dance never ends!
    Thanks, sounds good.
I was wondering if this one might be better though, given that it's fixed:

    Only lasts 1yr

    Cahoot (part of Santander)4.4%

    - Lasts a year, then 'matures' into a lower paying account”

MSE, August 2025 (This was before I made the time machine  :))

The Cahoot Simple Saver has a Variable APR surely, not fixed. Previous simple savers have dropped their rates within the 12 months.
I'm not sure. I was guessing that if it didn't say variable it might be fixed, given that it said variable for the Chase one. But this is all new to me so...?

"The next best easy-access rates only last a year. Santander-owned Cahoot pays 4.4% with unlimited withdrawals, though the account 'matures' after 12mths and your deposit gets transferred to a different, likely lower-paying, account (so diarise for then to ditch and switch)."

I see other experienced posters are saying it is variable so I guess it must be. Can anyone point me to where it says it is?
    Look at Cahoot’s website.

As Chase is a tracker account which started life at 5% if bank of England goes for another drop it drops quicker than variable rate accounts no notice period
Cahoot Sunny Day Saver currently paying 5.00% on upto £3000 per account
Previous issue of Sunny Day Saver still showing 4.55% new issue 4.4% didn’t drop the full 0.25%

First headline on the website you have linked:

    Enjoy 4.40% AER/gross (variable) for 12 month
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
