Has anyone tried this?
“Newbies can also open its linked easy-access saver within 31 days of opening the account, which gives 4.75% (2.5% variable + 2.25% fixed 12mth bonus), min 1p, max £3m.”

I'm sure lots of people have. Do you have a specific question regarding that account and bonus?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid3

Very probably tens if not hundreds of thousands have opened the Chase account and snaffled the bonus savings account too.
Some of us have been with them for a while, have had the bonus expire, moved all their money elsewhere, kept a few quid in the current account and then been offered another bonus savings account and moved their funds back again.
The money saving dance never ends!3 -
Yes I have, it has monthly interest. It is App only. Withdraws to my current account with another bank seem instant. The only downside for me is there is no website access to compliment the app, not a problem for most people, but I am just worried they may release an update to the app that requires a newer OS than my old Android phone can support.mp203 said:Has anyone tried this?

I was wondering if this one might be better though, given that it's fixed:“Only lasts 1yr
Cahoot (part of Santander), 4.4%
- Lasts a year, then 'matures' into a lower paying account”

The Cahoot Simple Saver has a Variable APR surely, not fixed. Previous simple savers have dropped their rates within the 12 months.mp203 said:

Both Cahoot and Chase have a 12 month bonus. Chase fix theirs at base rate less 1.5% plus 2.25% bonus. Today I moved my savings from Cahoot to Chase - it was straightforward. Took ten minutes to open. Because Chase make you open a current account before opening a savings account I thought I would have to pass any funds through the current account into the savings account but that wasn't so - I can transfer (instantly) between my Nationwide current account and my Chase savings account and never touch the Chase current account. So far, so good.

Both are variable rate though. Chase racts instantly and without additional notice to BoE rate changes. Cahoot give 2 months notice of any changes and may or may not do so immediately after BoE changes.aroominyork said:Both Cahoot and Chase have a 12 month bonus.

Very true, but Chase currently is 0.35% better. If there is a time when it benefits me to shift the funds back to Cahoot during the two month notice period, I could.friolento said:

Sure, I would do the same if I was still eligible for the Chase special. I filled my boots at Chase a while ago so can't get anything from the at present2 -
I'm not sure. I was guessing that if it didn't say variable it might be fixed, given that it said variable for the Chase one. But this is all new to me so...?mon3ysav3r said:

"The next best easy-access rates only last a year. Santander-owned Cahoot pays 4.4% with unlimited withdrawals, though the account 'matures' after 12mths and your deposit gets transferred to a different, likely lower-paying, account (so diarise for then to ditch and switch)."
I see other experienced posters are saying it is variable so I guess it must be. Can anyone point me to where it says it is?0
