You are correct servicing and repairs can be undertaken by any garage.
However any warranty claim and work needs to be approved and carried out by the main dealer.0 -

It cost me £62.00 plus £37.00 labour cost.I contacted Kia to claim the cost of the part and labour cost under the 7 year warranty. However, they refused to honour the warranty because they stated the part was replaced by a non Kia service garage. Are they correct or am I being unfairly refused regardless the tie rod end was a genuine Kia part?Surely, under European and UK law, a manufacturer cannot force one to use their authorized dealerships for servicing or repairs to keep your warranty valid?0

You didn't follow the correct warranty process so nothing unfair here.

• The garage completing the service is VAT registered.
• The service must be carried out correctly as detailed in the owner’s manual.
• Only genuine Kia parts and lubricants as recommended by Kia or equivalent quality must be used.
• The part numbers used should be detailed on the service invoice.
• The oil type and grade used should be detailed on the service invoice.
• Service records in the warranty booklet must be stamped and dated.

It is not a third party warranty that covers repairs by other garages.

However, we think your Kia dealer is the place to go for servicing and maintenance. That’s because no-one else knows our cars like they do, and they will only use genuine Kia parts and Kia approved lubricants. Also your car will be checked for any service campaigns, modifications or improvements that need to be performed.
But, provided servicing and non-warranty repairs are carried out properly using genuine Kia parts or parts of equivalent quality you can use an independent repairer without affecting your vehicle warranty.
If your Kia car is not serviced by a Kia dealer or Authorised repairer we recommend:
• The garage completing the service is VAT registered.
• The service must be carried out correctly as detailed in the owner’s manual.
• Only genuine Kia parts and lubricants as recommended by Kia or equivalent quality must be used.
• The part numbers used should be detailed on the service invoice.
• The oil type and grade used should be detailed on the service invoice.
• Service records in the warranty booklet must be stamped and dated.
Please note: Kia UK do not maintain a centralised service record database, if the service record booklet for your car is incomplete you should contact the dealer that carried out the work or the previous owner (if applicable)Limited Liability
Under this warranty, Kia are only liable for the repair or replacement of original parts by an authorised Kia dealer that are defective in material or workmanship. Kia are not liable for any costs that may incur getting to a dealer, supplying a replacement car or as a result of being without the car during warranty repairs.

Your garage should never have done the repair. . Your garage should have told you that... As a aside who decided it needing replacing, As it may not be covered anyway (consumable part).
Also your garage can not do service recalls or any updates required.
Kia warranty does not cover everything for 7 years

This is very clear on the Kia website. People need to stop assuming & check details. Catches a lot out.

Given that you may well be able to get repairs done much cheaper by a small trusted local garage, compared to a main dealer, the value of these warranties needs careful consideration.0 -
