Buy a refurbished iphone with trade in before or after the launch of Iphone 17?

I want to buy a refurbished iphone 13 and trade in my iphone XR on Back Market. With the launch of iphone 17 soon, this will make the phone I buy cheaper but the trade in value less (currently £72). So do I do it now before the launch or wait till after? 
Back Market is the only one to offer me decent trade in. The others - Music Magpie, Reboxed, Apple don't like the under 80% battery health.

There are a lot of threads complaining about Back Market on here.

Whilst both will reduce in price it's likely the 13 will reduce more in absolute terms than the XR given the higher starting point. 

Apple dont sell refurbished 13 any more so they are a total non-starter anyway. Always gotten a much better deal selling my old iPhones on eBay than trading them in.
