GroupNexus/CP Plus Ltd - Already Paid PCN

Hi
I received a PCN from GroupNexus/CP PlusLtd for over staying at a retail park. I’ve paid the parking charge of £60 on 6 March 2025 but are still getting demands from GNexus for payment and then quite a few threatening letters , phone calls, texts from DCBL! I’ve written to GNexus disputing this further demand of £170 and enclosed my Barclaycard statement showing payment of £60 had been paid to CP plus Ltd and that I refused to pay twice and see them in court! GNEXUS just acknowledged my letters, saying there’s nothing else to do but kept referring me to ring DCBL - just received another similar letter from GNexus this morning.
I’ve read your threads similar to my situation to keep ignoring the letters, stand up to their harassment. I wanted to know I am going in the right direction? Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks

why did you pay in the first place?

Are you sure the demand letters are for the same PCN as t he one you paid?

If it is just ignore it until you get a letter before claim and then point out you paid the original PCN.

What are Nexus saying you didn't pay the pcn OR you paid the £60 reduced payment after the 14 day offer period had passed or something else.

Nexus never want £60 payment they strive to reach the £170+ mark.

Now put a complaint in using Group Nexus' complaints procedure. Head it up:

FORMAL COMPLAINT. BPA WILL BE CONTACTED

Then whatever they come back with, escalate the complaint to the BPA AOS complaints email.

You should never ever have paid. Huge mistake. You don't pay unfair private PCNs.

And just a reminder even though this is stressful: while your case is quiet, before the end of next week please please do the government's Public Consultation.

We need every poster to come back & complete this vital Consultation before the deadline.

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance on that thread. I have covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi yes I’ve only received one PCN and those sent by GNexus and DCBL debt collectors all had the same reference number, same incident date, so I would assumed it’s for the same PCN. I’ve written to GNexus to this effect disputing their demand for payment but I think they don’t even bother to read my letters!
So I shall follow your advice and keep ignoring their letters. Thanks

    Hi
Nexus did not specifically reply to any of my points in my letters to them, they just passed the PCN to DCBL for collection of payment £170. It’s all only one way ie their way, pay up or I would face court action, CCJ etc!

    Hi Coupon - mad
yes personally if it’s just me I wouldn’t have paid. My partner is very adverse to this type of parking stress, so for sake of peace of mind, I paid the £60 within the offer period.
I will do the Government Public Consultation on unfair private PCNs and give my own experiences. I agreed that all these cowboy parking companies are scammers and should be held accountable for acting outside the law!
