Faster Payment Error. How could this happen?

I sent some money via Faster payment from Barclays to Santander earlier this month. I have now noticed that there is a discrepancy between the amount sent and received. A difference of £4.50. There is no fee for sending or receiving/
It is worrying, though I'm sure this will be sorted out eventually, that this could happen and more importantly HOW?

Both in UK, or was Santander overseas?
How much was the amount?Life in the slow lane0 -
Don't know if it helps narrow it down, but what was the value of the transfer? Are both accounts yours, or at least are you able to see the evidence?0

Yes both in UK. From Barclays CA to my Edge Saver. £529.50 sent £525.00 credited by Santanderborn_again said:Both in UK, or was Santander overseas?

But worrying that if this can happen once how many othe times could it have happened to people and they haven't realised.

Seems unlikely to be relevant but Santander do say that money can only be paid into the Edge saver from your Edge current account - the 'missing' £4.50 isn't lurking there by any chance?Growingold said:

No it's not in my current account. I have always paid money direct to my Edge Saver for over 2 years now.eskbanker said:

Just want to say everything has now been cleared up. There was no mistake on the banks part. Rather my eyes not clocking 2 transactions,
one for £529.50 and another one for £525.00. Thank you everyone for your input. 6 -
Appropriate user name then?Growingold said:Just want to say everything has now been cleared up. There was no mistake on the banks part. Rather my eyes not clocking 2 transactions,

I wanted to say the mistake was on my part as everyone had tried to help. Yes appropriate user name but then we are all growing old and can miss things at time. When I contacted Santander they too missed one of the transactions until I pointed it out after saying it was resolved. Thank you everyone once again.eskbanker said:
