    Nanny State UK again.

Perhaps next time he should just carry on smoking his ciggy in to the shop, he is less likely to get nicked for that.

Or perhaps he could wait until he gets home before lighting up:rolleyes:

Ciggy butts are not bio degradable but rollies are.
This is why there is a litter problem with ciggies, we have posters all over the place saying you will get fined if caught chucking ciggy butts on the floor, thankfully they have put new bins around with the corner bit for stubbing out and putting butts in bin.

    I HATE fag ends!!

I am a smoker and I often find ends in my garden (not from me, mine go in the bin!) and it drives me mad!!! they must be from delivery drivers or people passing and chucking their fags in my garden!

If I am out and there is no bin I stub my ciggie out and put it in my pocket - then I just put it in the bin when I pass one.

I meant for littering, not the post directly above mine. ;)

The town of Colwyn Bay has been in decline for quite some time now but Conwy County Borough have recently made an effort to brighten up the town by installing planters full of brightly coloured pansies.

And how wonderful they look, the way the sun reflects off the Lambert & Butler packet is particularly attractive.

A colleague of mine was approached in a back lane by a man claiming to be an environmental health officer who had seen her drop her cigarette end on the floor. He showed her no ID but gave her a penalty notice for a £50 fine. She took it to court and won because he didn't show her any ID. Also there were no bins anywhere in sight of where she was.

She'd also seen him lurking at the end of the lane watching her and had become quite concerned about this at the time.

I'm not saying that littering is right but there are ways and means of enforcing the rules
