Manchester airport parking fine

Hi all , got an email from my lease company I get my car from,  saying they have had notice of  a fine for Manchester airport. Sadly I only read the info within this site after replying to APCOA UK to dispute the fine. I am concerned that I might of ticked the box at the start saying ‘I the driver ‘ or words to that affect. However while I mistakenly went up through the ‘drop off’ zone , due to crazy traffic and real poor signage, I didn’t stop and drove straight through the zone and out the other side in search of the T2 west long stay parking which I had already booked a pre-paid parking slot for the length of my holiday. I have explained all that to them.
I actually think it’s a purposely set up trap for easy revenue , the signage to get to the big long stay parking is pretty none existent unless I just missed it in the darkness , madness and the very early hours .
Any words of advice or thoughts on if I have a case to dispute . Like I said I didn’t stop , drop off or pick anyone up and I literally drive straight through and there camera stamps show I was only on that lane/zone for 2 minutes in total. That’s inclusive of slow moving traffic into the drop off zone . Thanks in advance

    use this text only
, appeal as the keeper , do not add anything else,
This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will *ever* be given. Please do not bother with your known fishing expedition in an attempt to get driver details.  It is known parking firms do this to try and get around the fact when there is no keeper liability in play. (and never can be under POFA)

Due to this being airport land you will be well aware there is NO keeper liability due to the byelaws in force and thus not relevant land.

As there is NO keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win @ POPLA. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code where you will auto withdraw

If you waste your time asking for driver details this will be ignored and you will still lose at POPLA if you dont cancel the PCN

So let's save my time and yours and cancel this PCN you simply cannot win this (and you know it)

And read the Airport Drop off Group thread. This is soooo common that we have a Group thread to stop us having to reply to hundreds!

So even if I have ( I think ) at the start of my appeal form ,admitted I was the driver . Would you still recommend I add more detail to the appeal and add in the text above even though I might of said ‘ I the driver’ wish to appeal against the fine……….. Ot was the first question on the appeal process . I wasn’t aware of this thread at the time and if I was, I obviously wouldn’t have admitted  such fact . Not sure where I stand having already filled in the appeal form .

How can you have already appealed? Start again if you are just halfway through some pages.

I clicked on the link to appeal the fine yesterday and then a mate mentioned this thread . I wish I had read these threads prior to filling out the appeal form because I am fairly sure I clicked on the drop down choice of ‘I the driver’ blah blah blah .
Basically I drove straight through the drop off zone by mistake while trying to find the entrance to the car park I had already pre paid for 10 days parking . ( T2 West long stay ) . So I have used and paid for one of their services , I just took wrong turn to get to it and now they are trying to fleece me of more money. They can see on the time stamp that I basically drive through and also went into the correct car park minutes after that.
I would follow the normal template , but will that still be suitable even though I have already sent an appeal form in. On the appeal page there is a choice to ‘add further evidence ‘ I think . Maybe I could put something in there . Just not sure what ,given the fact I’ve sent something in to them that was prior to reading threads on this site . Thanks all

Even if I have sent my story of events to them and not the suggested text posted in here !? Should I add the text you suggested into the additional evidence section that’s available or leave it for now .

    No.

The appeal option has sadly been wasted unless they only captured your car for less than a minute. That would be a valid point for POPLA. The easy win has gone.

Just ignore the £170 threatograms from now on, which you should hopefully have seen already in the pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST thread.
