I have my court date now, which is this month. DCB Legal have since sent emails saying their client is willing to make an offer to conclude this matter. I am ignoring of course, although I'm very tempted to respond and tell them where to stick their offer.

And (just in case they don't discontinue) you've drafted your WS and evidence that the Hearing Order tells you is due in the next week or so?

We all know they will discontinue but be prepared.

We are really waiting with baited breath to see your screenshot of the NoD (needed for Umkomaas' thread, please) which will arrive before the date they should pay the Hearing fee!

I will be doing it, yes. Funny how their correspondence states that I need to contact them to hear their offer before a certain date that is coincidentally the day before the documents are due to be filed.

Just had a notice of discontinuance as I was about to submit my witness statement and other documents. The court fee was due tomorrow as I understand it, so no coincidence there.

Its really opened my eyes, this experience, to what a massive scam is going on across the country by these 'parking firms'. No wonder the courts are overwhelmed and there's a massive backlog when they are inundated with rubbish like this that goes nowhere.

Thankyou to all the volunteers on here for all the advice and help, without it I would have probably paid and moved on.

Sorry for more questions, but do I need to do anything now? Will the court confirm that the case has been closed or do I just take DCB Legals word? Still shows in my MCOL at the moment and nothing to show its been discontinued as such.

Mcol is never updated once the case has been transferred to your local civil court, or no point looking there

No need to do anything, but I suggest that you phone the court and check that the hearing has been vacated
