Hi there folks,
Hope everyone is good. I have a few Kindle fire 8 tablets, think its the 22 model, only 2 GB Ram, so waiting on apps and things to open on them is a right pain in the behind.
I have reset but after a few days or so same old thing. I have tried a few close all apps software and while it helps I do think I will get a new tablet with more Ram needs to be at least 4gb.
I do like the eight inch tablet and have been looking at the Samsung A9 which has 4GB Ram and a 8.7 inch screen which is ok. I do notice that there are quite a few tablets Such as lenovo which might fit the bill too, so any pointers in the right direction is very much appreciated.
Thank you

You can a Lenovo 11" for £120 from Argos. Not the highest specs but it will generally be a higher spec than
the smaller screen units.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -
If you can stretch to a little bit more, the 8Gb version of the A9 is smoother and quicker, not suffering the slowdown the 4Gb (or less has)1

Based on my experience I certainly wouldn't buy an Amazon Fire tablet (despite the praise they often seem to get on here).
I have heard good things about the Samsung A9 from a source I'd trust.1 -
Alternative would be Honor pad X7 8.7" 4GB RAM with Snapdragon 680 as it is just released in July 2025.
I am not sure if 8GB RAM version Samsung A9 8.7" worth the extra.

The cheapest ok 8" Tablet is likely the Redmi SE 8.7 @ £59 for the 4GB/64GB version. https://www.mi.com/uk/product/redmi-pad-se-8-7-inch/buy Currently £53 with the 10% off coupon
There is also the Redmi SE 8.7 4G, if you would like to be able to use a SIM card, for £79.99. https://www.mi.com/uk/product/redmi-pad-se-8-7-inch-4g/buy
Currently £72 with the 10% off coupon.
Honor Pad X7 as aforementioned, is £79.99. https://www.honor.com/uk/tablets/honor-pad-x7/buy
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is £99.99. https://www.samsung.com/uk/tablets/galaxy-tab-a/galaxy-tab-a9-wifi-graphite-64gb-sm-x110nzaaeua
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 UK versions should have an up to 3 year warranty. Some on Amazon will be non-U.K. version. Caveat Emptor.

Tablets with 8GB of RAM will be a better experience, but none of them have that option in a U.K. version. Samsung have a 6GB RAM version, but it's above your budget.
You could move up to an 11" tablet with 8GB of RAM, for £129. https://www.mi.com/uk/product/redmi-pad-se/buy/ Currently £116 with the 10% off coupon.

I would lean towards the Redmi SE 8.7 4G for value for money.1 -
Thanks for all the detailed replies, I have just bought a 8.7 inch Lenovo tab one from Amazon cost £99 but only cost me £59 as about a month ago they offered me £40 to get an Amazon Barclaycard which I did just to get the money. That is now reduced to £20 I believe.
Anyway difference between day and night between the kindle fire 2022 and the lenovo which has 4GB Ram 64 GB storage, really fast compared to the kindle, why oh why did I put up so long with it!!
Thank you all once again.0 -

The Redmi has a better display, is water and dust resistant(IP 53), has a longer lasting battery and has an infra red port(for use as a remote control).
