Suddenly I cannot withdraw money from Paypal

I have regularly withdrawn money from Paypal to one of my linked accounts, whihc is  with Starling, via the Debit card. However, yesterday I went to withdraw as usual and it stated that they were unable to use that or any other of my linked cards or bank accounts with other financial providers as they say they wil not accept tranfers yet. that is funny as I have used the same bank for some time without any problem.  So I am stuck and it seems that I cannot take my money out. I have tried to contact customer service but after being on hold on the phone for over and hour and a half I had to give up. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did you resolve it?

Another one here with problems.  The account to which I normally withdraw my funds is displayed on-screen but, when I try to arrange the transaction, it is not offering that as an option and even suggests there could be a charge for withdrawal.

I was going to ask about it here although I thnk I'll wait till Tuesday (next bank working day) to see if the system is sorted.

Same for me - first experienced about 8 weeks ago. Unable to withdraw to either Chase or First Direct. I managed to get round it by transferring the money to my husbands PayPal, and he was then able to withdraw - though to the same First Direct account!
  • Yes! Exact same problem! Up until yesterday I regularly withdrew money every day, now today it's saying of my bank accounts "Some banks and cards don’t accept transfers just yet" which is nonsensical, given that they always have and today just stopped.

I have read elsewhere that they have a problem with their system which they said are  aware of this and are trying to fix.. Hopefully this will be sorted very soon. It would have been helpful if they had put a notice on their site to inform people of this.

Yep, same issue here. Discovered it yesterday

These can’t be used for transfers

Some banks and cards don’t accept transfers just yet.

Same with me today! Thank goodness for this forum where you know it’s a glitch at PayPals end and nothing to do with your bank. Hate the way organisations never make it clear on their sites or apps when an upgrade they have done has gone wrong!

  • Same for me, regularly withdraw to my Lloyds - all of a sudden I can't withdraw to any account. I was panicking this meant my account was limited but I have no email or paypal message to that effect. I presume it is the technical error mentioned here (thankful for this forum to give me the peace of mind). Hoping they fix it quickly but as others say - why not add a message on the Paypal page to let people know....
