It might be,  but only when you are on the actual compulsory mediation phone call,  with the mediator in the middle  not by any other method,  do not call or email the lawyers directly

Did you miss the advice that said ,  on the mediation phone call.   ?

    Yes, at mediation.

But don't be pressured and agree on £100 or higher. Even if they don't accept it's almost guaranteed they'll email to accept the £60 before any court hearing.

You can have a reasonable approach but unfortunately you are not dealing with reasonable people!

Have you now found the template defence thread (one click away) at or near the top of the forum and read the 8 steps, so you don't have to ask about the standard N180 form or mediation?

Anyway, even though this is new and stressful for you (we get that): please now do the government's Public Consultation within the next 5 days. It's all we ask!

We need every poster to complete this vital Consultation before the deadline.

    See this thread: -

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-8-weeks-from-11th-july-2025/p1

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance on that thread. I have covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

CLOSES ON FRIDAY. Just days to go.

I immediately went through the portal service to contest the claim
    Coupon-mad said:

    What exactly was that defence?

We need to see the Defence verbatim please - not your recollection of what you put. Surely you didn't put this?

"I asked for any evidence of a fine being attached to my vehicle and said I would be ok to pay the initial fine as it was possible did forget to pay."

Tok late to change it now.

As your case is quiet right now, showing us the actual exact defence word for word can wait till you next update the thread (after you've done the N180 by following the 8 steps).

Due to urgency, the Public Consultation comes first!
