I know that sounds ridiculous, but they’re all at least 2mm too wide and there’s no space, apart from this one. So I’m stuck waiting for them to fix it whilst occasionally having another search for a tumble that will fit, hoping I’ve missed one and suddenly find one.
    Which model exactly?
From the recalled list this model looks to have the smallest width at 595mm: HBTDWH7A1TCE-80
I just did a quick search and this is the first one I looked at that appears to have the same dimensions and capacity as the recalled model if it's the HBTDWH7A1TCE-80

    Hi,

I have the same tumble dryer. I had it replaced within 8 months and then was contacted about the safety issue. An engineer came out and couldn’t find the part to replace and confirmed its safe to use. I kept on receiving letters/emails about the recall. I contacted Hoover via email and was told that it’s safe to use. A few days ago, they contacted me again and said that an engineer will be booked as it’s not safe to use.

I’m fed up of going back and forth and not being able to use an appliance that cost £500!

The last engineer messed up my integrated cabinet door.

What are my consumer rights with this? I purchased the original from Currys.
Hoover just keep telling me the planning team are very busy and will get in touch eventually - it’s been over a month now where they’ve instructed me to not use their product as it’s unsafe.

The advice Hoover gave was to ask my neighbour to use their machine or wait for good weather and hang it outside!

It does seem like there’s nothing that can be done and Hoover aren’t obliged or bothered about fixing the unsafe appliance within any timeframe.  It feels bonkers they’d behave this way, but like their reps point out, there’s nothing I can do about it.

If anyone has any luck getting their Hoover or Haier appliance useable again, I’d be really grateful to hear about it.
An engineer is coming to check mine tomorrow. If it’s not useable, I will be contacting Currys for a refund. They’ve already replaced it once. I need a dryer with the same dimensions as the space is limited.

The same engineer visited again, just to tell me that because it was replaced, its not an affected model. He dismantled it again, and I’ve had to pay someone to realign the cabinet door.

Hoover said I can claim for the repair costs. I don’t have the invoices, as it was a handyman and cash in hand. What a mess!
