Hoover/Haier Heat Pump Tumble - Safety Issue

Hi - hoping for some advice, please.
We purchased the Hoover heat pump tumble drier in February 2024.
in May 2025 they got in touch saying there was a safety issue, to stop using it and they’d come and fix it. This all happened within a week and all fine.
We then received a text from both Hoover/Haier and the retailer Argos on 5th August saying to stop using again as it’s been discovered the appliance is unsafe and there’s a risk of fire.
15 days later and there’s still no sign of any resolution.
I’ve contacted them on the phone, on WhatsApp and by email several times. They keep explaining they’ll fix it but don’t know when as they’re very busy.
They have said I should dry washing on the line or ask a neighbour if I can use their machine whilst they try to fix the issue. They repeatedly say there’s nothing they will do or no timeline for fixing it.
Argos, the retailer, have been a bit more helpful. They’ve said they’ll take it away and refund.
I know this sounds a bit demanding, but although it’s a solution of sorts, as we specifically purchased an integrated appliance it means we’d need to order a new matching kitchen cupboard door and sort out fitting it - Argos won’t help with costs for this.
So I feel we’re stuck with an appliance that repeatedly can’t be used for safety reasons, no timeline of when it’ll be fixed and disinterested customer service reps.
Any advice would be appreciated, please!

Can't the cupboard door be fitted to another integrated dryer?3

We drilled the holes based on where the hinges go on this appliance. It would be very unlikely a different appliance would have the two hinges in exactly the same place to fit into the existing holes in the cupboard door. I think.0 -
You just screw the fixing into the different location if necessary, it’s not going to need a new door.2

The hinge would come out the door, leaving a hole. If the new fitting was anywhere near the hole, it wouldn’t be possible to fit it, would it?
The only way it works is if the new holes are in completely seperate places. That’s going to be tricky to be sure about.
Thanks for the replies.0 -
You can almost certainly re-fit the door. The old holes can be filled if necessary. You may even find that slight height adjustment of a new appliance can make the existing door fit without modification. Built-in appliances wouldn't be very popular if people needed to find and buy new doors every time an appliance needs replacing.1

If Argos are offering a full refund this is above your rights - so the lack of reduction on the refund due to use can be put to a new door if necessary. There's plenty of ways to avoid a new door as others have mentioned - and any hole remaining can be filled no issue.0
