Best flushing WC - has anyone got a vortex?

Hi slinky yes I think water softeners are great but when we re-did the kitchen ours was taken out...long story!
But that downstairs loo never flushed properly even when we had a water softener
Thanks bjorn_toby_wilde
I don't think anything can help with the flush - we had another plumber look about a year ago and he replaced the cistern but said he felt there was not much improvement - it seemed slightly better to us as it 'runs on' a bit longer
He implied the pan was the issue?
So I guess I'm back to my op
If I have the roper Rhodes cistern, then it's the pan that I chose which will make or break it?
Go with rimless?
And don't focus on it being 'vortex' - given no one has heaped praise (or not!) on those

I really don’t know which toilet bowls perform best, but the flush valve controls the volume and speed of the flush. It’s fairly easy to change if it’s not doing its job well.
The link below has some recommendations
