    Hi WIAWSNB

Yes it’s the right hand joint I’ve turned around, the third collar sitting at the bottom of the bend is the original one that connects the right hand joint however it’s not designed to pass over the ‘u’ fitting and be removed. The collar holding the now ‘reversed’ joint one of the extras that came with the P-Trap.

In the last photo it’s air tight I covered one end and blew into the other.

I haven’t yet tried to see if the right hand pipe without the internal sleeve fits the vertical pipe yet as I’m at work, but will try over weekend and report back. If not I’ll pick up those suggested parts from screwfix.

    Cheers

    Hi All,

    Success!

The now ‘reversed at one end’ P-Trap works.

I completed the ‘blow test’ on the whole fitting before attaching with one hand over the other end and its air tight, all tightened up and leak free and no nasty smells from the drain outside 😁

What a great community you are! thanks to everyone who made suggestions and provided guidance especially WIAWSNB, BTW and molerat.

I’ve included a picture below, I was going to cut off the extra collar hanging off but left it hanging to remind me of the Great P-Trap Faff of 2025 😂

    Cheers again!

Cracking job, and nicely worked out!
I didn't expect that solution, but very pleased 😀
    It looks 'right'.
