Easyjet cancelling flights with few bookings?

Going back to Easyjet, i did mention earlier that they dont let you pick seats until a month before on a holiday booking.
Funnily enough i had an email this afternoon inviting me to select seats for a holiday I have booked with them NINE MONTHS away. Is this a new change of policy thay came in today I wonder?0 -
I think they've always allowed people to choose seats at any time, but it's only free if you do it from 30 days.
Did the email suggest that it's free to do so at nine months out?0 -

Ive got no idea if its a new thing for everyone though, Ive not done a dummy booking.
As for your last sentence, no not free, but because I am very tall I have snaffled the extra legroom seats otherwise flights over two hours are generally unbearable. So I certainly would have noticed at time of booking previous trip and done this immediately. I suspect once check in opens you can get a random seat for no cost.0
