Barclays Switch

Thinking of taking up the offer from barclays on the switch offer but from what I’ve read and understand they won’t pay it to anyone who has ever had a current account, is this correct if so is there anyway to find out as I can’t remember and I don’t want to waste a hard search if I’m not gonna get the switch bonus?. Thanks.

I'd do a search of my emails (got 20 years-worth still online).

Or maybe check credit report(s), they should have any bank account openings in the last three years or so.

Apart from checking your credit files or your own records, you could also submit a DSAR to Barclays to request what information they hold about previously held accounts

I’ve managed to open a barclays account quite easily so I’m just gonna see if I get the bonus or not as I can’t remember if I was a previous customer but pretty sure I wasn’t as a adult but maybe as a child, is there a way to add my barclaycard to the barclays app or do you have to use the separate app for the credit card?.

It has to be there under ''Show all accounts" (below my one current and two savings accounts). Similarly in a Barclaycard app you can see current and savings accounts as well.

If you don't see it, try "Add an account" in "Manage accounts".

I don’t see add account in the manage accounts part of the barclays app, I’ve read that I need to ring them to add my barclaycard account to my barclays account, basically connect them up?.

I don't know. I'm sure I didn't call them. I have two barclaycards for very long time and both were added automatically at some point. So were my other accounts to Barclaycard app.

That said, I see now that "Add an account" leads to some sort of telephone call, probably in-app one.

I’m using the barclays app not the barclaycard app as I’ve just opened a current account so want my barclaycard added to the barclays app if that makes sense so I can see both my current account and credit card in one place.

As I said, both apps are almost  identical and interchangeable, although usernames and passwords are historically different.

I’ve just called them and some nice gent has merged the accounts so my barclaycard is visible on my barclays app where I can see my current account and hopefully soon my barclaycard also, should take 3 days.

If you can now see your Barclaycard in the Barclays app, what are you waiting three days for?
