getting wifi wireless adaptor to work on linux mint

I know this is probably not the best forum for this topic, but i was thinking of trying out Linux Mint .
I created a bootable usb with Linux mint 22.1 xia on it. I booted my laptop from the usb and linux mint loads ok, but the wifi adaptor does not connect.
I have a TP link WN823N wireless adaptor plugged into my laptop ( the original internal wifi adaptor stopped working previously)
Do i need a driver to get it working?

If you are using Linux by booting the computer from a "live" USB (as opposed to installing it on a partitioned HD / SSD) you will have to install the TP link driver each time you boot the computer.
Yes, there are of course ways of remastering the "live" USB stick to incorporate the driver (and indeed anything else you want regularly) but it is not the simplest of processes.
Years ago when I did more with Linux there used to be some freeware available called (from memory) Remastersys which did the job fine but not exactly simple to use.0 -

Ask ChatGPT how to create persistent live USB of Linux Mint so driver additions get saved, then how to identify the Realtek chipset and use apt to download and install driver when you have a wired connection online.0 -

In the installation guide it only seems to mention 18.3 version
