After 9 months of trying to get over the death of my husband, today I have a demand for £217.this has really knocked me back. The death was registered and one stop advised 14 days later..what a horrible thing to happen making him out to owe!! He never claimed anything in his life until macmillan got thus for us in the last year or so of his life .

Sorry for your loss.
AAH - what is that - attendance allowance?
Did your husband have a claim which carried on paying out after his death?
If so then you are duty bound to pay it back - normally these things only take a few weeks...0 -
Sorry for your loss. This sounds like a two week overpayment of attendance allowance (at the higher rate).Quite often an overpayment can occur where DWP are not notified immediately, and it can take them quite some time to contact executors of the estate for repayment of the overpayment. Are you the executor of your late husband's estate? If not, do not respond. Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter1
