Can anyone advise me how long Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr take to let you know if a claim against Lufthansa has been successful or not?
I made a claim to Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr in April for recompense of expenses I paid for alternative flights, when Lufthansa cancelled my flight and could not offer a suitable return flight and then refused to pay me back. It said the process could take 3 months, so I left contacting Schlichtungsstelle until July. They replied that they had emailed me 2 months earlier regarding a query they had and that I should reply within 14 days, which I replied to that day. Last week I sent an email asking how things were going and didn't receive a reply. I've tried again this week saying that I need information from them a.s.a.p because I will need to try the small claims court or a no win no fee company and still no reply!
I'm at a loss as to how to proceed. My flight was cancelled in January, I spent 4 months trying to get a refund from Lufthansa, before going to Schlichtungsstelle Reise & Verkehr. I spent over £2800 for flights, hotels and transport back to the airport, for 2 people. This is a lot of money to walk away from, so any advice at all would be very welcome.
