Etihad delay for 1hr 45min, missed connection in Abu Dhabi, off to hotel and fly to London next day

Etihad flight from Asia was delayed for 1hr 45min and we all missed our flight to UK and Europe in Abu Dhabi - no other flights in the afternoon that day. All to hotel in Abu Dhabi and on the next day flight (mine was over 18 hours later than original).
I emailed them and they are offering just about £110 cash (my one way flight to LHR was under £400) or about £150 in credit (but only valid for 12 months).
Is that reasonable and acceptable compensation... !? I heard passengers were talking about £500 when we were stranded in the airport, but I think they said that was for EU or UK originated flights and airlines... !

The EU 261 (UK261) rules don't apply here as it's a non EU airline and it's not flying FROM the UK/Europe. So assuming they paid for the hotel as well I'd be happy with that.0

Yes, if the flight was from the UK/EU then you'd have been entitled to £520pp delay compensation (unless caused by circumstances beyond the airline's control), but those regulations don't apply to flights to the UK/EU on non-UK/EU airlines.
https://www.etihad.com/en/legal/rules-and-notices references those regulations, and those applying in other jurisdictions, but doesn't seem to specify anything for a departure from the UAE, so it would appear that this will be dealt with on a case by case basis, i.e. it'll be down to your negotiating skills!0 -
Okay, thanks. Yes, they paid for hotel, food, taxis to and from hotel. Just the delay, although as it was at the weekend I don't think anybody minded much about that either...0

Sounds like Etihad did a very good job.
£110 for the inconvenience sounds reasonable.1 -
I asked them if I can get the £150 voucher but valid for 36 months, I probably use them again but not sure if within 12 months, see what they say...! Or I said if that's not possible can I have that back as cash... :-)
If not ask, never get... ! lol

Just a feedback, they did not reply to my email at all, and as their offer was expiring so I accepted the cash option which was paid to my account after 7 days....0

Hi, can I ask which email address you used to get your compensation offer? The same has just happened to my daughter and she can’t find where to put in a compensation claim. Thank you!

Sorry for late reply, I think they had an online form to fill out, I don't remember…, but I also sent email to this address:
EYNoReply@etihad.ae
Although it says NoReply I think they got it - not sure… !
On their reply they send a link to click on and accept their offer….
