Matured Isa and cash Isa

• You say that you have an ISA holding previous years' subscriptions with Barclays.
  
  It will mature shortly.
  
  You have mentioned that the value is £85,000.
  
  If you transfer the whole into a new Isa with Barclays, interest will start to accumulate so that you will go over the protected amount.
  
  If you wait until maturity, you would have the option to  request another provider or providers to arrange a partial transfer?

Understandable. Just incase a new Barclays ISA doesn't work out for your I've provided a link to the moneyfacts website where you can compare Fixed Rate ISAs quite easily. Update the investment amount to filter out account that won't take the lump sum you have accumulated. Also each ISA has a further details section to help you understand what it offers. 1 Year Fixed Rate ISAs up to 4.32% AER | August 2025

Something like Aldemore's 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA might suit you if Barclays doens't work out. Just remember if you do move to a new provider, use the new provider's transfer form to transfer the ISA funds, don't withdraw it into a bank account.

Thanks, I managed to get a quick visit to the Barclays hub.
As money going into the new isa is purely previous years, and as I've not started it with any other funds no current year subscription will be used.
I've set up the in house transfer on maturity, he can't see any issue, and he is not aware of it being compulsory to add current year subscription  despite the clause I showed him.
His advice ..go with the  new account, ignore the clause.. at the end of the day if there are issues I've followed the advice of a staff member, and I have a log of my visit.
