Well we are moving away from the subject of this thread and I'm as much to blame for that as anyone but surely it can only be considered conventional for those people that choose that option. For those that don't want to use the contactless method it's far from conventional.

I hate contactless payments because they invariable nearly always come without a paper receipt. I usually have to ask for one and sometimes I forget. Without a receipt I find it difficult to keep track of expenditure. It's not progress as far as I'm concerned, it's a pain in the backside. I have no problem with conventional credit or debit card payments which nearly always come with a paper receipt automatically.
Contactless and Chip & PIN are no different from a receipt perspective. Both can be setup to automatically produce a receipt or to have a prompt on if the receipt is required. It's businesses choosing not to print something off on paper that 95% of people put straight in the bin. Most are printed on thermal paper which can't even be recycled.

    Do not accept cash payments.
We have a retail business, many of our customers are elderly and don't have access to card payments.
Or rather, choose not to use cards, mine are late 70s and early 80s, and pay cards fine

Sad that unwillingness to learn costs you more money for the cash use
Using cash doesn't mean you haven't 'learnt' to use cards.  The customers concerned may just prefer to use cash.
The post I quoted literally states:

We have a retail business, many of our customers are elderly and don't have access to card payments
It doesn't say they prefer to use cash

It doesn't say they haven't learnt how to do card payments either.
It's says they don't have access to card payments, but they do, anyone can get a contactless card from their bank to pay by card, they are choosing not to do this. It's not like chip and pin needing a PIN which people forget, just tap and go as so many elderly do fine.
Have they got rid of the requirement to enter a PIN occasionally rather than allowing endless contactless use?  I wasn't aware of that, or maybe I forgot.

Also, I'm not sure it is true to say "anyone" can get a bank card.

And rather than expecting everyone to conform to a particular way of thinking, it might be worth remembering that for people who find it difficult to budget, transacting with cash is one suggested way of helping them manage their spending within the available budget - and withdrawing that facility would be a retrograde step for many who struggle with money.
Entering a PIN every time is different to taps with occasional use

"Also, I'm not sure it is true to say "anyone" can get a bank card."

Well it is, if you have a bank with money in that you get money out of, you can get a card

I appreciate the strawman but nowhere did I say they should remove cash facilities. I simply pointed out, yet again, that the people in question can pay by card, they can get a card, they are choosing not to which is impacting the OP in having to pay more for cash business banking - as ever, cash costs businesses a lot more than card payments so OP has the choice of paying it or not accepting cash.

A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Your payment is shown instantly in the online app for almost all banks, on online banking, on the *sighs* inevitably paper statement etc, heck many places email them to you. A paper receipt can be a backup but really isn't a requirement

I ask for paper receipts in case I am stopped by security when I try to leave the store. I was stopped when the alarm sounded when more than one person left the door at the same time. I was asked for my receipt. The store will have CCTV showing me scanning my shopping, and I will have the payment on my phone at home, but having a paper receipt sorts the matter out on the spot.

That may be the case but I don't use apps very often and rarely use my mobile for anything other than
calls & texts. I often don't have a mobile phone with me when I'm shopping, I definitely want a piece of paper at the point of the transaction every time. I'm sorry if that's a problem but that's how it is. I've noticed recently that when using a credit or debit card with a pin I'm often being asked if I want a receipt......of course I want a receipt !

Why 'of course'?  Some do, some don't - personally I'll only rarely accept or seek one, such as if there's the potential to have proof of purchase for a future return (and even then, organisations making paper receipts optional should find ways to accommodate such scenarios).

Not sure how feasible it would be and if it would be any cheaper. Could you pay cash into your personal account then transfer it into your business account.

A good way to get your personal account closed down for breaching T&C's

If OP anticipates monthly cash deposit charges of over £250 then that would suggest substantial regular amounts, that are highly likely to be recognised as using a personal account for business purposes, which will generally result in account closure....
