ebay car auction stopped and im suspended. why?

they are a law unto themselves. ive had this happen too and trying to get any info out of them as to why they have suspended u is impossible!!! they are a nightmare!!!

had a similar prob last year got suspended for 10 days for suspected shill bidding!
cobblers. the only peeps i dealt with on a regular basis were some toy sellers.
(still do) and i didnt know them from adam.
it tuns out that a buyer who i had a bad deal with, NPB, had reported me.
i felt like a schoolboy when told to read various ebay regs first before proceeding again. crazy ebay.

Your items didn't show quickly enough so you started to email ebay. They can be touchy sometimes especially if you were threatening or even slightly abusive and as a brand new user you would have been on a sort of 'probation' so where the rest of us regulars get a bit of leeway they may have considered you not the type of person they wanted and began to watch your account.

You then use a friends account to go onto messageboard, if you broke the very strict rules on there about advertising your auctions (like saying what you were selling) or made any supposedly accusations against ebay that would have got the suspension. You would also face suspension for using an account that is not your own on the message baord, but I can't understand why your friend's account has not yet been suspended, as it will be.

That got your account suspended and there is a link between you and your boyfriend as you both at some point have had the car listed, so that means his was automatically suspended as well.

Lastl under the linked rules, I would expect your friend to have her account suspended soon as well. All you can do is go to live help as has already been suggested and grovel, supply any of th einfo they need and see whether they will consider lifting the suspension.

thanks so much for trying to figure it out, but i was nice as pie when emailing even wishing happy new years! i was suspended before going on message boards etc. ive sent the fax they wanted 'proof of id, add, ownership, etc. just waiting now.

just thinking, wouldn't be bacuse i've moved into new build maybe?

or my phone number is a 2nd hand one, perhaps the previous owner (of the number) has an ebay account...?

ive tried it on my account with other things listed and i was suspended (thought it was because i kept emailing staff because there response time was sooo slow) so i then put the car on my boyfriends account.

both accounts are suspended and apart from -

"your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies"

ive had no reason why.

very unhappy as was going to have a heavy ebay week and got all geared up : (

I agree with Soolin that emailing ebay about slow to appear branded listings has brought your accont to attention and the car being listed on both accounts looks suspicious.It may be that too many things looked strange.
Many items now take 24hrs to appear and if everyone emailed about these items ebay would crash!

I'm wondering whether someone may have reported you for false contact details?

When you posted on the eBay board, did you mention the item number or say what the car was??

I don't understand, from everything you have said, why you could possibly get suspended?!

You've got some good points there.

A new user will be subject to more caution than a long standing member so things like poor or missing contact details may be anough for a suspension.

Also, the mentioning of the car sale on the official ebay message boards would probably be enough to get a suspension as well as other users would have considered it an advert. There are some weird and wonderful rules about using the message boards and easy to break them, and maybe it was a few minor problems with a new account that added up to enough for a suspension?

Soo, reading the thread on e-Bay, the OP didn't mention item number, nor any mention of what the car make/model was (so nobody could have searched and found it).

OP basically posted near enough the same info as on here.

I don't get it - what could she have possibly have been suspended for?
