Birmingham Airport new 2l liquid limit

Has anyone flown from BHX since they increased the allowance for liquids in hand luggage? Has it caused much longer queues @ Security?
We’re flying to Stockholm on Friday. Won’t take advantage of it as we connect @ AMS but would like to be forewarned if likely to be even longer queues.

Not Birmingham but I've flown from Edinburgh a few times recently and they've also increased the liquid allowance.
If anything it has made the queue times shorter as you can just go through without having to take everything out your bag although it does depend on time if day, staff members available, other flights etc.1 -
We haven't flown yet but as less physical examination is required I would expect queues to get shorter.0

Flew from Birmingham in June. Through security around 4.30/5am, around 15 mins altogether. Great new system, just left everything in our bags. Not sure how busy it would be later on though. Many package flights leave around 7-9 so it gets busier!

Update
For anyone interested: we dropped bags around 11.15. Very short queue at security. Both our small rucksacks selected for 2nd screening, despite neither containing any liquids at all & no prohibited items. Overall a slick process.A quick duty free shop, & drinking coffee by 11.45.2 hour connection @ AMS with a 33 min walk between gates reduced to 10 mins by 1hour 50 delay. But that’s another story.0 -
It looks like I may have wasted a whole £12 on two Fast Track security tickets
Used them twice in the past. First time we did avoid long queues. Second time the Fast Track wasn't even open as there were so few people going through security. I still think it's a small price to pay to avoid long queues, particularly as my wife broke her leg badly 2 years ago and finds standing very uncomfortable. She can walk miles, it's just standing around which is a problem

I will also be carrying a 450g jar of local honey in my rucksack. A present for owner of our accommodation who is now a friend. Couldn’t have done that last year.0 -
It has reduced the queue for security a lot since last year, you leave liquids and laptops etc in your bag0

I've just checked the Birmingham Airport departure board and there are 16 flight within half an hour of our departure time. I think the Fast Track may come in useful after all.0

We're heading to Crete and the officials there are generally pretty friendly. Famous last words!0
