Civil claim form letter, what to do

Hi firstly thanks for approving my membership I came here after searching online regarding parking fines, I’m hoping for some advice of what to do next please if possible.
i received a letter all the way back in March 2024 from spring parking stating a parking charge was for not displaying a permit, where I parked had 3or4 spaces saying permit holders only but I parked next to the end parking place as these spaces are for customers of the local shops to use.
I read up online about this subject at the time and maybe looking back now wrongly just ignored this as well as various other letters for the same thing, the fine increasing a few times on the way.
there was a period of a month or so when the letters stopped but then I started to receive intended legal action letters from dcbl with the charge now at £165, again I just continued to ignore all letters from them which looking back may have been a mistake, this went in for another 6 months but now I have received a civil court claim form letter with a time deadline to respond now with extra costs including interest, court fee and legal representative costs which now add up to £268!
im not sure what to do now is if inevitable I’ll just have to pay this or do I have any other courses of action I can do to contest this?
it’s a little worrying as there’s a threat of possible ccj action if this is ignored further and what makes it worse is this is in my wife’s name as the car I was in was hers originally then when we got a new car I starting using the old car and never bothered changing the log book.
i would really appreciate any help or experience in this if possible or anyone legally that could help maybe.
I enclose a screen shot of the civil claim form letter, thankyou in advance.

Your password is unredacted on the picture above
Spring Parking via DCB LEGAL, issue date 29th July 2025
Not clearly displaying a valid permit, total of £268.88
Study the 2nd post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum, 4th from the top, then study the 1st two posts in the defence template thread, second thread down from the top , in announcements
Login to MCOL via your government gateway account and complete the AOS online first, ideally today, to get more time to work on your defence
Adapt the template defence by coupon mad, because there are only a couple of points to alter, namely paragraphs 2 & 3

1. read the newbies thread - all the info you require is in there.
2. Check out the DCB Legal thread of discontinuations - you'll see where your case will probably go and you will pay nothing2 -
Thanks for the replies I’ll take a look at all the sections mentioned and try and work it all out, a lot to take it lol.
Not sure how to edit my original post to hide the password on the letter, I can’t work it out, I’m not the brightest on these things sorry.

You cannot edit until your newbies status changes to forumite, same as everyone else, nothing to do with your abilities, it's a forum imposition on newbies

Hi I have a couple of questions, do I fill the MCOL in with my name or my wife’s as all the letters have come addressed to her being the keeper on the logbook but I was using the car ay the time?
Also for the defendants details do I put spring parking who are down as the claimant, or DCB legal?
Sorry if I sound a bit dumb I just don’t have a clue about this kind of thing.

it's her the claim is against as the keeper.
do not say who was the driver - always respond as the keeper1 -

Your wife uses the Template Defence. Not an appeal; the defence where she adds to para 2 that she was not the driver, then puts her facts & response to the allegation as para 3.
Show us her intended para 3 first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry for the late reply, does the defendant (keeper of car) sign in with her own gateway id etc to submit the MCOL?
