RingGo parking extension didn’t work

I have read Kryten3000's webpage. It is very helpful but there is still the likelihood of having to go to court taking a day off work and spending a certain amount on the train ticket. I will try to fid accounts of people who have had to attend court0

Obviously you won't ever pay - and you should be ignoring the daft DR PLUS letters ... which you should already know from reading post 4 of the NEWBIES thread - but what did RingGo say when you escalated the complaint?bonzo71 said:Thanks so much for such a rapid response. I was able to chat with a RingGo agent. They confirmed that I had attempted to pay for extension but it did not go through. Trouble is you don’t get a notification that it hasn’t worked. This is a proper scam. Why can’t they have contactless card payment like everywhere in France, Germany and Switzerland? (At least those countries I know anyway)
She basically said provide this information to the Smart Parking and see what they say. Trouble is I am away for two weeks. If I pay by tomorrow, I can pay £45. Might I have to pay £90 if they disagree?
I'm a lady.bonzo71 said:Gentlemen, I have steadfastly ignored the calls for payment but I now have a letter from Debt Recovery Plus stating that there will be a court action leading to damage to my credit rating. This is not going away. The fine has quadrupled from the initial one. Am I doing the right thing? I am sure you are experienced and perhaps legally educated to know nothing would come out of this but for the uninitiated, it is quite a hefty annoyance which is not going away. I guess I am looking for reassurance. Do I need legal advice? Thanks in advance.
There is no advice needed. No steps. My reply above already told you to ignore DRPlus letters.
The NEWBIES thread - written by me - shows everyone pics of those daft threatogram letters and positively begs for no posts about them!
You won't find any such accounts re Smart Parking, so stop looking.bonzo71 said:I have read Kryten3000's webpage. There will NEVER be a court hearing before a judge but there will be a court claim this year. From DCB Legal. Not from DR Plus.

@Coupon-mad: Apologies lady! :-) I really appreciate you taking time out to help individuals. I have now read the Newbies thread as well as the one you mentioned above. I feel a lot better. I accept your statement in the newbies thread that despite minor differences, most claims are the same. However, may I check if my initial response alters the situation? At the first letter, I had responded to them on a web based appeal (not an email so I don't have a copy) I stated everything as it was including the RinGo's response to the payment not taking place due to network issues which was my problem not theirs. Does that appeal sort of imply that I was cognisant of the fact that payment had to be done and I did not ensure that it had gone through? I also mentioned that the card payment system was not working on the day. Does this not sort of accept some responsibility?? BW0

No posting about £170 threatograms please. We don't have the time or interest in those and nor do you, @bonzo71PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
