I have this phone number stored on my phone to enter a phone-in radio competition
03434282017,,,,,,,,,,,,,1
and usually it works, I select the number the phone dials the number and after the time determined by the ,,,,,,,,s it dials 1 and then the call ends.
This way I don't have to listen to the call, which takes normally 49 seconds.
Yet sometime it fails and does not dial 1 and the robot on the other end of the call gets upset and does not let me enter the competition unless I am paying attention and quickly press the keypad key and press 1.
So why does the automatic press 1 sometimes fail?
I can redial dozens of times without error then it fails or even on the first call of the day.
What is causing this?
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy A15 with Android 15

A comma is generally a 2 second delay from when it finishes dialing the number. I'd be surprised if its "forgetting" to dial the 1 but more likely your timing is too short and when the call takes longer to be picked up or the message is longer etc its simply pressing the 1 for you too early. Maybe add another comma in to see if that gives a better hit rate0

This has been going on for months, ever since I discovered that I could use my bundle to make unlimited calls to 0343 numbers and semi automate them.
I just decided to see if I could find a solution.0 -

Things that will change the timing that you have no control over: how long after answering before the message starts, changes to the message, the small gap between message end and the system switching to listening.
Whilst it wouldn't matter if you were a second or two "late" sending the "1" it would matter if you were a fraction of a second early before it was ready.
How often are you entering? I ask because if it's a lot then you might want to look into automation that starts a timer when it hears a noise. There are a variety of android apps or Shortcuts on Apple (don't know if it can do this)
If it's only once a day then you might as well just press 1.0 -
I should also add that many competitions limit the number of entries per person, so calling more than the limit won't give you any more entries.
Edit: found the competition which is across Bauer radio stations.
Limit of 200 entries per week.
Message is your phone number a pause then a beep.0
