Vax Carpet Cleaner - Unrepairable?

Options
I've been having trouble with a Vax carpet cleaner so I contacted their service department. The agent diagnosed the problem as "This sounds like an internal fault", then when I asked how to get it fixed he replied "We would only be able to offer a discount on a new machine for you. We are unable to offer any repairs to machines which are out of warranty."

Shocking! I'd never have bought a Vax if I'd know they are effectively unrepairable. Are there no independent repairers who will handle Vax machines?

They haven’t said they aren’t repairable, they’ve said it is a service that they don’t offer.
I would certainly look for an independent, or possibly even a repair cafe - some of them like a challenge.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I guess that part of the problem is that they are relatively cheap to buy new . About £150 to £200.
Presume any independent repairer will charge £50 before even doing anything.

^This, plus the availability and cost of parts.

Also, the combination of water and electricity being particularly dangerous, so anyone attempting to make a repair risks liability if their work is deemed to be the cause of someone's injury or death.  The lack of a service/repair manual would also mean the repairer was on their own in terms of liability.

We have a Henry vacuum cleaner, and all the parts are easy to obtain. Plus, the construction is pretty straightforward, so it's easy to repair.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Water is not being released down the hose - at least not more than a trickle

Which model, platinum or something else?

Not realising water down the hose to the front blade or when using the handheld brush.

They need regular disassembly and cleaning or they tend to block. I do mine after every use.

It's a Platinum. I've been trying to use it with this tool:

Some water does come out of here when I press the valve in with a pencil, but its only a trickle. To be honest I don't know how fast it's supposed to flow.

I've tried two local vac repair shops. They haven't even bothered to reply to my emails.
