Living in Scotland, it's very nice not to have to scrape the car on winter mornings. That said, we have a double garage and only one car so no problem with car size and it's still very usable for storage.0

Personally I would do what I want, I'm the one that's going to use it.

You don't really need to guess.
Every house builder knows exactly what is appealing to new buyers. They pay a lot for research and of course they know what sells.
On my estate (now about 20 years old) every single house, large or small, was built with either single or double garage. None were built with conservatories.
There are several new estates currently being built and sold today in surrounding villages. Different builders but without exception all have garages. None built with a conservatory although conservatories are much cheaper than garages.
The garages are put to a wide variety of uses but they all have one thing in common. No-one ever puts a car in one.4 -
I'd want a conservatory but a proper one where you can shut an external grade door from the house but I'm a keen gardener who doesn't drive so...0

Why though? I would not want to deice in the winter, I would not want to suffocate in heat in the summer and certainly do not want to have a massive wire across the drive charging an EV vehicle in the future either which i suppose a garage would resolve...0 -

I would never buy a property without a garage. I see so many have had the garage converted to a utility room or something else. It just suggests that the house is to small to start with. If you can't get your car in the garage it's because the garage is to small so perhaps you need to look for a bigger house with a bigger garage.

My town house has a ground floor garage, with direct internal access into house. Car always lives in there, along with my workbench, DIY & garden tools & a mountain of miscellany. When I've been out shopping etc it is so good to pull onto my drive, open garage door with remote & drive in. Can then get myself & shopping out totally in the dry. Absolute essential if I move house to have another integrated garage. I am only one of 2 houses on the road who garage our cars. But I don't envy those scraping the ice in winter or getting nervous because one house has had their car stolen twice & we get ne'er do wells scoping out the street from time to time. If I am going away I can pack the car indoors with no-one the wiser that the house may be unoccupied for several days.2
