Buying a package holiday through Inteletravel

Options
Has anyone ever booked a package today through Inteletravel? How was your experience? I know they are MLM and I've seen negative comments about working for them but I'm assuming that this wouldn't be an issue for its customers? I can't find much information on customers who've used this company to book.

Thanks in advance

Virtually all the reviews on Trustpilot are either 5* or 1*, that rings alarm bells for me.

How did you find them? Is it through a friend of yours who works for them? If so I wouldn't go, if stuff goes wrong it could affect the friendship and if it all goes well your friend may try to persuade you to become an agent.

According to they internet - a US based outfit.
You could probably DIY the holiday you want - I'd be cautious.

Never heard of them and the reviews are 5's and 1's which is a red flag to me, especially the negative ones, so I personally, wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

They are all franchise holders. Some better than others. They did get a bad wrap as sadly many of these Inteletravel agents are little more than part time ‘travel influencers’ doing this as a side gig rather than travel agents with experience.  That said, I am sure there are some good ones in the bunch.

See if the Inteletravel agent you have contact with has a Facebook or other social media following.  Are there good comments on there? Perhaps even reach out to someone who has posted to gain feedback.

There are supposedly 25,000 Inteletravel agents in the UK, 24950 of them have never trained as an agent but bought a deal they found on Facebook to become an agent. I like my travel agent to have years of experience and to know what to do when things go wrong, as they may from time to time. The 50 who have previous experience are great but how you find them I have no idea. I think you can tell I am not going to become a customer any time soon!

I have an acquaintance that is an Inteletravel agent, they started advertising on FB holiday offers, but it quickly changed to looking for additional agents to build her team - this isn't seemingly happening.

They post occasionally about clients having booked, but I can only recall this happening 3 maybe 4 times in a year. I think a lot of the posts of successful bookings are just shared between the network.

They've said that it cost them around £150 to join and ongoing fees are about the cost of a daily coffee. They holiday frequently, and I assume the commission she earns acts as a larger discount than the costs she pays? They also boast that the training can be done in around a day, I think may have been around 4-6 hours.

I'm not intending on booking a holiday through them any time soon. Personally I can't stand the relentless BS about how fabulous a company they are, and their equally wonderful agents

If the emphasis is far more on recruiting others rather than selling a product or service then it's essentially no different to a pyramid scam. The product or service is just a distraction to give it legitimacy. There's loads of them, see MLM schemes in the UK: The 'cult-like' beauty businesses in your DMs - BBC News

I'm with some of the other posters above. Their relentless advertising on FB groups trying to attract new agents using an MLM style tactic is enough to put me off.

I agree. The bit I don't understand is why people go with them when all the advertising is to be an agent. Doesn't that ring alarm bells? If it was such a great travel agency surely the agents would be advertising amazing holiday deals to their friends and promoting their services instead of trying to recruit. You never see your local corner shop advertising for others to open a corner shop in competition so why would travel be any different. (I know the answer is that they get commission for recruiting others which is probably more than the commission for selling holidays so slightly rhetorical question)
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
