Earliest date I can open Shawbrook 1Yr ISA to transfer in Santander ISA maturing on 21/09/2025

Options
Maybe I'm just not good at reading between the lines but I've asked Shawbrook this question three times, phrasing it a different way each time, and am still unclear on the answer.

The responses I received note that the transfer-in request must be received within 14 days of opening the Cash ISA, and that the Cash ISA to be transferred-in must be within 30 days of maturing.

However, none of the responses answered my question as to whether the 30 days includes, or is in addition to, the 14 days in which you have to submit the transfer-in request.

In other words, if my existing Cash ISA with Santander matures on 21/09/2025, can I open the Shawbrook ISA 43 days ahead of this date (i.e. 10/08/2025) and then submit the transfer-in request on day 13 (i.e. 22/08/2025)?

The product page says that the transfer has to be requested when applying?
Transfers in from other Cash ISA or Stocks and Shares ISA providers are permitted. Requests to transfer funds into an account from another ISA provider must be made at the same time as your initial account application by signing a transfer form. Transfer requests received after your initial account application may be refused.

I don't know if the transfer form includes the option to defer until maturity of the other ISA though....

Shawbrook state that transfer-in requests have to be made at the time of application, but I'm sure I've read (anecdotally on here at least) that you've got 14 days to do so.

Either way, I would presume that they mean the account needs to be credited with the transfer within 30 days of opening (as this is a fairly common funding window for cash ISAs in my experience) so I suspect you may not get the luxury of a 30+14 day window, but only Shawbrook will be able to give you a definitive answer so I would press them for a answer.

The other thing to bear in mind is that banks like Shawbrook can often take time to process secure messages or requests (1-3 days is typical), so I probably wouldn't leave it until day 13 to submit a transfer request and risk the ISA getting closed.

You don't have 14 days transfer request at time of application any transfers received after this may not be accepted.
To be on the safe side 30 days only
Some doubt if the transfer has to be complete in the 30 day window hope that's not the case
