Tracing responsibility for Discretionary Commission Agreement

I took out HP credit for car purchase through FGA Capital UK Ltd trading as Jaguar Cars Finance.
I believe FGA Capital changed their name to CA Auto Finance UK Ltd. I have not been able to get a reply to my queries from CA Auto Finance.
Does anyone know if CA Auto Finance will be responsible for my Discretionary Commission Agreement claim?

Companies House confirms the name history of an organisation though ideally you want to check company number rather than name as that never changes and is the "fingerprint" of a company.

On the basis it appears to just be a renaming then yes, a company changing its name alone doesnt change or avoid any of its liabilities, if there are any.

A change of name retains liability.

  • My HP contract with CA Auto Finance shows Total Credit Charges of £7,409.92.
They have informed me that Discretionary Commissions of £1,745.40 were paid. How do I know if this sum is a realistic amount or not?

You don't.   Indeed, some DCA could be zero or even minus.
You have to accept what they say as being correct.
