Leaving Vodafone is it a good idea

Options
Hi there Im due to finish an 18month contract on the 8/2 and I wondering what other offers are out there as Im thinking about leaving Vodafone due to some bad experiences. So I need to make some quick decisions on what to do. Thought that the knowledgable people on here might know where to look.

I need to reduce my monthly bill to around £15/20 pm. Ideally I'd like a new phone but not overly fussed on the model. I tend to use around 200 mins per month (not much I know) but I do text alot.

Never actually used T Mobile, 3 or O2 so wondered if anyone knew of any decent deals out there. Seems to be alot of Wii and TV offers so are these any good?

best deal at moment for low mins/texters is T-mobile flext plans - £5 off at the mo too ;)

on 3, 1 min or 1 text = 1 unit out of your 300 bundle, t-mobile give you a £ allowance on flext, each min is deducted by 20p and texts by 10p so i'd say T-mobile prob fits your needs better than 3

    FLext 20 was £20.00 now £15.00
    Monthly Allowance
    £34
Use your allowance on any mix of UK calls, texts & picture messages. £34 allowance gets you up to 170 minutes or 340 texts. Don’t decide in advance, just use your phone and use it up.

try https://www.cpw.co.uk for a t-mobile clearance deal with cashback as they always have T-mob clearance on

try a handset with T-mobiles web n walk at £7.50 a month, set up email on phone & I gaurntee you your calls/text usage decreases while internet/email in your hand makes you more productive, I quiery/pay my bills while commuting/waiting in a que/having lunch without ever talking to someone
( read moroon ) in a call centre, and I have full records in any case of a dispute, if a company calls me I tell them to e-mail me thats why I emailed them :)

o2 forget about them - most expensive & the most idiots I have ever had the misfortune to pay for thier wages, NEW massive o2 flagship Glasgow call centre was diabolically worse customer care than ever a year ago whan I left - & im a Scot !

T-mob customer service is slightly better than 3 but still mediocre at best, Orange has problems but the best of a bad bunch - Voda as you have experienced - if its not on thier script the 3rd party call centres tell you it will be escilated ( to actually Vodafone ) & you'll wait forever and a day for a REAL Vodafone employee to call you back

customer care on all the mobile networks is beyond a joke in the UK, Virgin is quite good but the deals are crap - guess thats the balance - money on staff quality & training or on DEALS

if you go for a contract with gift - get a Wii, never seen my nephews move so much - great exercise, PS2 to cash converters & they are active more than ever
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • Diamonds,

if you use 200mins ish PLUS text wont the t-mobile flext mentioned above not be enough? it works out to 170mins not including any texts, if you text a fair bit your looking at less minutes,
maybe worth looking at next level up, flext 25 which is £20 which is £60 value which works out to 200mins AND 200 texts or 300mins or 600texts

if these still wont be enough (check your last few bills for a definate idea of what you really use, have a look at getting a sim only deal
theyre 1month contracts but dont come with a phone (if you want a new one thats not too exciting look on ebay or for a paug phone that you can pop the sim into
e.g. orange would give for £15 per month 150mins, 300text plus unlimited offpeak texts too
^spending £50 on a handset compared to over an 18month contract which is what the flext would be would mean the contract would cost £17.77 per month.

  • Cheers for the advice, need to review the minutes usage in order to make a decsion then. Will probably give vodafone a call to see if they can do anything (I doubt it)

Here's something else to keep in mind when choosing, Virgin uses the T-Mobile network to run it's service, so any problems with T-Mobile will be on Virgin as well.
