Give it a year, that artificial grass will look dreadful and you'll be glad to get rid of it.

    Hateful stuff.

Your choice to have synthetic grass, whoever advised you on the install should have pointed out that there were tall trees nearby that would shed onto it. (Though they may point out you could see the trees yourself, they could have mentioned the effect it would have on your grass.)

In the same way that people with “real” grass feed, weed, mow and even water it, you are going to have to invest sometime in your artificial grass, a blower or vacuum would help.
The OP is already complaining about vacuuming taking hours each day!

I always try to think of a tune for topics, here's my offering for this one.

The OP's garden might be so shaded by the 'orrible conifer that the grass ends up a moss filled boggy mess for all we know. If kids play out artificial can be a good sollution. Used to have massive Leylandii conifers behind us, and they were a real nuscience blocking all the sun, shedding loads after high winds and the dead brown stuff low down is an eyesore anyway. Still, nothing I could do until they chopped em down. Maybe the stormy weather has exasperated the situation and they will shed very little in normal conditions. Daily vac sounds a bit much. Nothing you can do about it though.

Without playing it let me guess - Rip it up and start again?

Blackstar is, of course, perfectly entitled to have artie grass if they want, and in some situations it makes perfect sense.
Sil, for example, has a small garden, mostly decked, but with surrounding raised veg beds, and then a rug-sized area which she wanted as lawn to provide a soft play area for her young kid. But who on earth is going to buy a mower for such a small patch? So, Artie it was. 10 years on, it's still in very decent condition.
The good news is that the OP"s example looks incredibly realistic. The bad is that this is largely due to the needles. :-(
Such a nearby conifer of twice the building height may lend itself to other legitimate complaints, tho', such as root damage, and risk of harm should it get blown down.
But that's a completely separate issue. Sorry, Blackstar, I don't believe you have a legitimate complaint regarding the needles.

bought house next to a pub and then complain about the noise springs to mind.
Or those who buy near operational RAF bases because the houses are cheap(er) because of the aircraft noise.  Then complain about the noise.

Or complain of smell of manure in the countryside.😃

The OP may have perfectly valid reasons for using synthetic grass.

In answer to their question, yes they are being unreasonable to expect the neighbour to do something to stop pine needles falling on it.

exactly - the OP was not asking about the various merits or otherwise of synthetic grass - though this doesn't stop lots of people piling in with their views on it

But - Yes it is unreasonable to complain about pine needles etc falling on it
