I've booked a flights and cruise holiday departing uk 15th Aug 2027 (visiting Japan and South Korea), paid £1900 deposit, but no travel insurance provider will allow me to book for a single trip 2 years in advance. The maximum is 18 months. What I'm wondering is whether I'm covered for the deposit amount if something happens to any travellers between now and 18 months prior to travel (once I've booked insurance)? When I paid the deposit I was told this was non refundable.

If (God forbid) any of the party have to withdraw on medical grounds before travel insurance is in place then there will be no cover in respect of a non refundable payment.0

I have travel insurance through my bank account. Provided I keep the paid bank account going, the travel insurance is ongoing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I have annual travel insurance and I am covered as long as I keep it renewing. Or at least that is what I was told by my insurer.

It's easy enough to contact Aviva ahead of deciding if such an account is suitable. The dynamics will be different of course if the lady is looking to include others in the policy.
